South Korean soccer’s first qualifying match for the 2026 North American World Cup will take place in Seoul on Nov. 16.The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on Tuesday that Seoul World Cup Stadium has been confirmed as the venue for the first leg of the North American Football Confederations (NACC) Asia Region Second Qualifying Round against Singapore on Nov. 16. The national team, led by Jürgen Klinsmann (GER), has been drawn in Group C alongside Singapore, China and Thailand in the second round of qualifying for the North American World Cup. In the second round of qualifying, 36 nations competed in nine groups of four teams, with the first and second-place finishers in each group advancing to the third round of World Cup qualifying and earning a spot in the 2027 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup. The 2027 Asian Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia.
To qualify for the World Cup, teams must finish in the top two spots in the third round of qualifying, where the 18 nations that made it through the second round are divided into three groups. If a team finishes third or fourth in the third qualifier, they will still have a chance to qualify for the fourth qualifier. After the first match of the second round against Singapore, South Korea will play China away on Nov. 21, followed by a two-game home-and-home 토토사이트 series against Thailand next March.
