Harper, No. 1 in the NL All-Star fan vote, 2 home runs, and the team lost 2-5 to SD

Bryce Harper, the No. 1 player in the National League in the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) midterm voting, hit two cannons at home. At the 2024 MLB home game against the San Diego Padres at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Harper started the game as the third batter and hit two home runs and posted two hits and two RBIs in four times at bat.

Harper hit two homeruns in front of the home fans to celebrate her winning of the mid-term vote for the All Star. The multi-homer game in one game was his second in this season since the game against Cincinnati on April 2. With two outs in the bottom of the third inning when his team was losing 0-1, he swung San Diego starter Matt Waldron’s first pitch to secure his 16th solo shot in left-center. With one out in the eighth inning when his team was losing 1-5, he hit Estrada’s low splitter to hit the pole in right, tying for fourth in the National League. 토토사이트 순위

Despite Harper’s outstanding performance, other Philadelphia batters were in a slump. Except for Harper, he only had four hits and an empty ball and failed to score additional points, losing 2-5. In the interim tally of All Star fan voting announced on the previous day, Harper received 1,115,562 votes, the most in the National League. She became the most popular star in the league, beating over Shohei Ohtani (1 million 2,377 votes), who became the most nominated hitter. Meanwhile, San Diego Padres’ Kim Ha-sung started as the sixth batter’s shortstop on the day, and had no hit in four times at bat.

Kim’s batting average for the season went down from 0.220 to 0.217. In defense, he helped his team by playing stable games. With one out in the bottom of the seventh inning with his team leading 2-1, Kim successfully handled Raphael’s hit ground ball with accurate location and a stable catch. The San Diego Padres defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-2 to snap a five-game losing streak.
