Waukegan Casino Project at Full House Resort Blocked By Tribal Litigation

American Place Casino at Full House Resort in Waukegan, Illinois, is blocked by ongoing legal challenges. The rival continues to sue the city, alleging the bidding process was rigged.

The development of Full House’s American Place casino has been in trouble, with Forrest County Potawatomi in Wisconsin continuing to block construction of the stadium. The tribe was among the 2019 license candidates but sued the city after losing the race.

Potawatomi claims the process was rigged and the tribe did not receive a fair gun in the bid. The lawsuit was originally dismissed, but complaints were revived in 2023, allowing the tribe to have a say. 슬롯사이트 순위

According to Potawatomi, the city council underestimated the tribe’s contribution based on outdated and inaccurate third-party reports. The lawsuit also suggests Mayor Sam Cunningham asking the members of the city council of Waukegan for approval.

Although the Full House Resort opened a temporary location in February of last year, the construction of the permanent American Place property has since been put on hold.

The future of the U.S. place in Waukegan is still uncertain
Unfortunately for Full House, the future of Full House’s property remains shrouded in uncertainty.

Alex Stolyar, the Full House Resort’s chief development officer, told The Chicago Tribune that the lawsuit continues to delay the company’s plans. We couldn’t say anything for sure at this time, but we appreciated the city and state efforts to quickly address the issue.

Since the Illinois Supreme Court is in recess until September, a ruling is unlikely before the end of the year. If the Full House Resort wins, it will likely take the gambling company at least two or three years to run its permanent casino.

In any case, proving that this process is rigged will be a tough fight for Potawatomi. Potawatomi says the allegations are “virtually questionable.”

Meanwhile, Illinois is continuing its efforts to legalize online gambling. Congressman Edgar Gonzalez Jr. hopes iGaming will reach Illinois in 2025, saying there is a lot of momentum for iGaming measures.
