Will the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour’s 2024 season be crowned this week?
The Hite Jinro Championship, the last major of the 2024 season, will be held at Blue Heron Golf Club (Par 72, 6,763 yards) in Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do, from the 3rd to the 4th.
This year, the total prize money has increased to 1.5 billion won from 1.2 billion won last year, and the top prize money has increased to 270 million won from 216 million won.
As it is a major tournament, the grand prize points are also higher than normal tournaments, with 100 points awarded to the winner.
This season, there are four players with three wins, and threats to them are appearing in every tournament, so it will be interesting to see who will be the strongest in this tournament with a large prize pool and grand prize points.
One of the favorites is last year’s winner, Lee Ye-won.
Lee defeated a strong field at last year’s tournament, coming out on top to win the grand prize and set himself up for a big payday.
With three wins this season, Lee is tied for first place in the multi-win category, but has slipped to fourth place in the prize pool and grand prize points.
If Lee succeeds in defending his title in this week’s tournament, he will not only take the top spot in the most wins, but also take the lead in the prize money and grand prize points.
“I want to play without regrets so that I can defend my title with the good memories of winning last year,” Lee said, ”The season is almost over and I will finish it with a win in the remaining events.”
Park is not far behind, however, as she leads the season with three wins and the top spot in prize money and grand prize points.
Park competed in eight tournaments from August through September and finished in the top 10 six times. This included a victory at the Hanwha Classic.
Park Hyun-kyung and Bae So-hyun are also in contention for their fourth titles of the season, as well as fearsome rookie Yoo Hyun-jo, who won the KB Financial Star Championship.
Yoon In In, who has three top-10 finishes in four majors this season, will also be gunning for her first major title.
Yoon In-na tied for 19th at the Hanwha Classic, but finished third at the KB Financial Star Championship, tied for seventh at the Korean Women’s Open and ninth at the KLPGA Championship.
“As it is a sponsored tournament, I have a great desire to do well,” said Yoon In-na, who is sponsored by Hite Jinro. ”However, as it is a difficult course, my goal for this tournament is to put aside my greed and play my best with a humble heart and make every shot without regrets.” 바카라사이트
