Belgium, UK casino closures, COVID-19 once again

The latest casino news shows that the entire land-based gambling sector in Belgium and the UK is returning to a strict lockdown. The first closure approach was applied in March, with the rise in coronavirus disease. Blocking all non-essential businesses lasted into the summer, and the government now estimates the entire shutdown will last for about a month.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced a lockdown that begins on November 5 and ends on December 2. The decision has been discussed over the past month and met with considerable opposition from the gambling committee, which stated that casinos are places to comply with all necessary protective measures. Representatives of the committee appealed that land-based gambling venues were for protective innovations such as flex glass between players at the same table, cancellation of food and beverage and limiting the number of players in the building.

Financial reasons indicate a desire to keep working while pandemic numbers are rising. So while the UK offline gambling sector has achieved significant revenue declines over the year, another lockdown could hurt the difficult recovery process. 파친코

The Belgian government has decided to close all entertainment venues at least from Oct. 28 to Nov. 19. The decision comes with new restrictions on gambling facilities where restrictions have been weakened in some areas. The increased number of recorded disease cases has forced the review and closure of attitudes toward mortar and brick gambling facilities.

At the same time, the Belgian Gambling Commission continues to block illegal online gambling platforms. Five new websites have been added to the blacklist, meaning fines between €100 and €100,000, as well as blockages. Interestingly, citizens who gamble online on banned platforms can be fined up to €25,000.
