“Chae Eun-sung’s final hit” Hanwha beats SSG to achieve Winning Series…a 4-3 victory

The Hanwha Eagles achieved a winning series with a winning streak against SSG Landers at home.

Hanwha won a new 4-3 home game against SSG in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 7th.

Hanwha recorded 46 wins, 6 draws and 62 losses, while SSG recorded 61 wins, 1 draw and 53 losses.

Hanwha starter Felix Peña showed excellent performance with four hits, two earned runs, two outs, four strikeouts and three runs in six innings.

In the at-bat, Chae Eun-sung showed strength with two hits and two RBIs in four at-bats, pinch hitter Williams with one hit and one RBI in one at-bats, Lee Do-yoon with two hits in three at-bats, and Choi Jae-hoon with two hits in two at-bats.

SSG’s starting pitcher Elias had seven hits, one earned run, five strikeouts and one earned run in six innings, leaving pitcher Song Young-jin with two hits and two earned runs in 0.1 innings and Noh Kyung-eun with one earned run in one self-pack in 0.2 innings.

Hanwha broke the silence that lasted until the third inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Noh Si-hwan and Chae Eun-sung hit consecutive hits to make the first run.

SSG also fought back, and immediately brought the lead. At the top of the fifth inning, Choi Joo-hwan, Park Sung-han’s hit, and pitcher’s wild pitch tied the game 1-1 with Kim Sung-hyun’s wild pitch at second and third bases with no outs.

Kim Sung-hyun’s defensive error was added to the sacrifice bunt, adding one point, and Choo Shin-soo’s walk and Jihoon Choi’s hit scored one point again to turn the game around 3-1.

Hanwha, which was quiet, brought the lead again. Choi Jae-hoon’s hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jang Jin-hyuk’s grounder and 안전놀이터 Lee Do-yoon’s hit made one run with Moon Hyun-bin’s sacrifice fly RBI at second and third bases with two outs.

Williams’ hit, Noh Si-hwan’s walk, and Chae Eun-sung’s hit added two points to make a 4-3 turnaround.

After that, the game ended as it was, and Hanwha kept the lead by one point.
