FC Seoul recruits tall Iraqi center back Sulaka, who played in the Asian Cup
Levin Sulaka (31), who played for the Iraq national team in the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Qatar Asian Cup, wore the FC Seoul uniform.
The Seoul club announced on the 21st that it had recruited Sulaqa, the starting central defender of the Iraq national team.
As a result, Seoul completed its defensive line with Kim Joo-seong and Sulaka, two national team center backs, in addition to the side defense of Choi Jun, Lee Tae-seok, and Kim Jin-ya.
Sulaka, a dual citizen of Iraq and Sweden, has both aerial ball competition ability and set-piece attack power based on his tall height of 192 cm.
At the Qatar Asian Cup, which ended last month, he played for the Iraq national team in all four games from the first round of the group stage to the round of 16.
In the third group match against Vietnam, he scored the equalizing goal that made the score 1-1, contributing to Iraq’s 3-2 victory. 카지노
Sulaka has experience in various European leagues, including Sweden, Norway, Bulgaria, and Serbia, and has also played in Asian stages such as Thailand and Qatar.
In Thailand, as a member of Buriram, he played a key role in helping the team lift the championship cup for two consecutive seasons (2021-2022, 2022-2023 seasons).
The Seoul club hopes that Sulaka, who has experienced various soccer cultures, will quickly adapt to the K-League stage and display his skills stably.
Sulaka said, “I am very happy to be able to come to Korea and FC Seoul, where there are many talented players, including captain Ki Sung-yueng,” and added, “I will do my best to make the ‘guardians’ (FC Seoul supporters) happy this season.”
With the Seoul team returning home today after completing their second training camp in Kagoshima, Japan, Sulaka is scheduled to join team training immediately.
