Gwangju City announced on Thursday that it has established a preparatory team for the 2025 World Archery Championships under the direct supervision of the head of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.The preparatory team will take the lead in establishing a basic plan for the tournament, creating emblems and slogans, promoting the tournament, and maintaining stadium facilities.To support the preparatory team, Gwangju reorganized the existing ‘International Sports Support Team’ under the Sports Promotion Division into the ‘Archery Games Preparation Team’.The team will be responsible for renovating the Gwangju International Archery Center and 스포츠토토링크 building practice and competition facilities.Next year, when plans for each discipline are in place, the team will be expanded from a team to a department or more, and will be transformed into a host organization along with the Gwangju Archery Association and the Korea Archery Association, the city said.The Gwangju World Archery Championships will be held from Sept. 5 to 12, 2025, at the Gwangju International Archery Center with more than 1,100 athletes and officials from more than 100 countries participating.
