Japan’s national soccer team, which will face Germany-Turkey, has announced its roster for the September A-Match, with Takumi Minamino (AS Monaco) missing .The Japan Football Association announced the 26-man roster for the September A-Match on its website on Wednesday. Of the 26 players, 21 are from Europe, a ratio of more than 80 percent .European midfielders such as Daichi Kamada (Lazio), Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton) and Ritsu Doan (Freiburg) have been called up, including captain Wataru Endo, who recently moved to Liverpool of the English Premier League (EPL).Kubo Takefusa (Real Sociedad), who is known to be close to Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), is also expected to play alongside them .The forward line is also filled with Europeans, including Takuma Asano (Bochum), who starred at last year’s World Cup in Qatar, as well as Oh Hyun-gyu’s rivals in the team, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda (Celtic).However, Hajime Moriyasu did not call up Minamino, who has been a regular second-choice option .Minamino, who joined Liverpool in 2020 before falling out of favor and moving to AS Monaco (France), has been on fire lately with three goals and two assists in three regular-season games .Also missing from the roster was veteran defender Maya Yoshida (LA Galaxy). Yoshida handed over the captain’s armband to Endo in June .At the last World Cup in Qatar, Japan had 19 Europeans in its 26-man roster, 73 percent of the total. Jürgen Klinsmann’s South Korea squad has 11 Europeans in its September A match roster .Japan will face Germany on Sept. 9 at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg, Germany, and Turkiye on Sept. 12 at the Segeka Arena in Heinke, Belgium. As of June, the German national team was ranked 15th in the world by Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), while Turkiye was 41st. Japan is 스포츠토토링크 ranked 20th.
