Las Vegas Celebrates Return of Overseas Visitors

The first trans-oceanic flight carrying tourists in nearly 20 months arrived in Las Vegas, the very day the U.S. reopened its borders to fully vaccinated international travelers. Resorts on and off the streets of Las Vegas celebrated the moment by welcoming international visitors with multilingual mark messages. 바카라

“I’m delighted to welcome international visitors back to our great state and wonderful Las Vegas. We know you missed the trip as much as we missed welcoming you. And I’m excited that Las Vegas is at the top of your list,” said Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak. “Las Vegas continues to evolve. Whether it’s your first or 50th visit, you’ll always find something new and exciting to experience. Welcome to Las Vegas and enjoy the visit.”

Las Vegas welcomed 5.7 million international visitors in 2019, a direct economic impact of $4.8 billion. Before the pandemic, Las Vegas welcomed nonstop flights from 31 cities in 12 countries.

“This is a watershed moment for Las Vegas when international borders open and international visitors are welcome back to their destinations,” said Steve Hill, president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Association. “In addition to being a global leisure destination, our major trade shows and conventions have a large international delegation, and we are very optimistic about the opportunities ahead.”

Domestic and international travelers have high hopes in Las Vegas over the coming months across conventions, entertainment, sports, and holidays:

The Latin Grammy Awards, which celebrate the best and brightest stars of Latin music, return on Nov. 18 to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.

The residences of superstar recording artists, including Sting and Usher at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Shania Twain at the Zappos Theater inside the Miracle Mile Shop in Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, Earth Wind and Fire at the Venetian Theater in Las Vegas, Carlos Santana and David Lee Ross at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Wayne Newton at the Bugsy Cabaret in Flamingo Las Vegas, Carrie Underwood and Katy Perry at Resorts World Las Vegas, Brian Adams at the Encore Theater in Wynn Las Vegas, and Journey at Virgin Hotel Las Vegas, will debut and continue for the rest of 2021.
