Macau gambling industry still falls

Nearly 95% of sales year-on-year fell in Macau gambling companies in August. The negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the entertainment industry, and one of the world’s casino centers is feeling it. Converting this ratio into money, the total income of 39 casinos in August was only $166.6 million.

But August became another month of negative trends and continued its fifth straight month of decline, with imports falling more than 90% year-on-year. The global lockdown has had a significant impact on the situation in Macau, with Macau’s governors introducing quarantine measures in late January. 슬롯머신

The IVS began in 2003 and allowed mainland Chinese citizens to visit two specific territories, Macau and Hong Kong. The temporary visa was activated for only seven days, but it led to a significant increase in both cities. However, the Chinese government suspended IVS after pandemic measures were implemented worldwide.

Nevertheless, Beijing has decided to renew its individual visit planning program at the end of August. Macau casinos typically expect to meet a significant number of Chinese tourists, accounting for about half of the total player flow.
