Son Heung-min, Park Ji-sung, Hong Myung-bo ranked 11 best Asian Cup players.

‘Eternal Libero’ Hong Myung-bo (Ulsan Hyundai), ‘Two Hearts’ Park Ji-sung (Jeonbuk Hyundai) and ‘Handful’ Son Heung-min (Tottenham) have been named among the 11 best players of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup.

The AFC unveiled the ‘AFC Asian Cup Dream 11’ on its website on Wednesday (June 13), as voted for by fans.

With five months to go before the start of the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar (January 2024), the AFC conducted a fan vote from July 17-30 last month to select 48 candidates from each position (goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, striker) who have excelled in previous Asian Cups.

Seven Korean players were nominated, from Lee Un-jae (goalkeeper) to Hong Myung-bo (defender), Kim Joo-sung, Koo Ja-cheol, and Park Ji-sung (midfielders), and Lee Dong-guk and Son Heung-min (strikers).

According to the fan vote, Hong Myung-bo, Park Ji-sung and Son Heung-min were voted the best players of the Asian Cup.

Saudi Arabia’s “Legend” Mohammed Al Deayea was named the Asian Cup Dream 11 goalkeeper, beating out seven other contenders, including Lee Un-jae.

The four defenders were led by Hong Myung-bo, with Yuto Nagatomo, Yuji Nakazawa (Japan) and Medhi Madavikia (Iran) receiving the fans’ choice.

The three midfield spots were filled by legends who have shone for Korea and Japan on the European stage, including Park Ji-sung, Honda Keisuke and Nakamura Shunsuke.

The three strikers are rounded out by Son Heung-min, who is in the prime of his career as a “world-class goal scorer,” Ali Daei (Iran), 카지노사이트킴 who is second on the all-time goals list with 109 A-match goals, and Australian “legend” Tim Cahill.
